I am going to be moving my 300 gallon salt water tank in the next few weeks. I want to set up a small kiddie pool of some sort to hold the fish while I move the tank at my leisure. I expect that I will end up using an inflatable pool of around 200 gallons or so. and will keep the fish in it for around a month, with filtration and plenty of water changes.

Has anybody had one fail because of a fish spine or fish bite? A few hundred gallons of salt water on the floor would really ruin my day.

Any recommended pools.

Thanks

Look for a stock tank on craigslist...

Stock tank would be more expensive than I would like to spend. I will be treating the fish with copper while in the pool, and that would render the stock tank unusable for inverts in the future. I am really looking for something disposable.

walmart sells 127 gallon plastic kiddie pools for around $10. they are 5ft round.

i agree ^ plastic is the way to go. I know tupperware is selling large containers. I got one that is close to 250G from biglots on clearance for 23$. GL

ive heard of kiddie pools popping from ray spines. but id say as long as you dont get the thin-walled or inflatable ones youd be fine. go plastic

some of the plastic pools are surprising weak for being designed to hold water, you might consider bracing it to if your going to get a cheapo one

I had a 6x6x24" blow up kiddie pool in my bedroom at my parents house. Lasted a couple months before a air leak appeared somewhere I never found. had a 13" pleco, 2 catfish and some other big fish, never had a problem with them.
