A couple days ago I purchased a Solarmax light fixture from my lfs that takes two 24" 14 watt T5 light tubes. Now, I don't remember EVER seeing any 24" T5's that were only 14 watts. I was just wondering if anyone knows where you can get these from, or if anyone has ever heard of these. Do you think that I could get away with using two 24 watt light tubes in this fixture?

I would like to replace the light tubes that came with the fixture with a couple of full-spectrum tubes for my live plants. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

I wish that I had thought about all of this when I purchased this light fixture...I guess that's what I get for impulse buying. :(

That fixture is a normal output fixture so the bulbs which should be normal output aswell dont put out as many watts as a T5HO fixture/bulbs.

I am not an expert on flourescents, but will the existing starter(s) be big enough to handle two 24 watts? It most likely is OK, but with all the trouble I have had with starters lately, it came to mind when I read your question.

Take care...
