The l ast few years were all about completing my collection. Getting
all the fish that i want for my humble collection and making them thrive became my priority, rather than say breeding fish or growing them out. Doing that kind of jaded me over new fish ... i dont get excited as much since i always have new exciting fish whenever i get the chance. Which kind of blows. . .

So to make a long story short, Anybody get a good "high" over a new fish purchase recently?? Cmon, lets hear it . . . dont be shy.

A good example of less is more. I stil lget excited by new fish but I am relatively new to fish keeping (4 years) and only have 5 mosty small fish tanks.

Ahh maybe youu still have to experience the joys of completing your dream line up ?? And the joys of going through the "fire-sale" phase .- i say that with sarcasm. :)

fish don't get me excited anymore. Tanks do.

Youre in a different phase now. I go into that too but not right now.

But you cant tell me fish dont get you excited. Otherwise you wouldnt get excited about tank either. That or youre into reptiles. . which you arent :)

"Fire-sale" phase...I'm new, what is this? I do have a dream lineup...a very big lineup. Will take forever to complete and I will probably die before I do.

"Fire sale" phase is that stage when youre more intent on getting your dream fish than actually keeping them. This always resuls in lack of space or mismatched fish goes down to selling your fish in a "fire-sale" or trading them.

I actually just invented that term but a lot of hobbyists ( not just fish ) go through that. They get so excited that they get stuff thats more than what they can handle.

i definitely underwent that phase again, 2 years ago. I've managed to control myself pretty well since then, though.

Great Job. I went nuts earlier this year and got some fish that werent exactly the best match for my setup .

Back on track though, a fish that would get me excited would be a real nice black ray.
A P14 would probably make me giggle like a little girl . And an asian aro . . .but theyre illegal here so ill just settle for rays.

I don't think I'll ever get out of the fire-sale phase...sigh...
I agree with p45, I gotta admit tanks and equipment get me more excited...thats kinda strange now that I think about it......
