If so, are they rare? Does anyone know where this particular variety might be acquired. Wow is this a great looking fish!

Not so rare in Canada. Check with your local retailers and ask them to bring them in. Florida farmers have them for sure.

I have seen them before. Look very similar to red empress, like cousins LOL. Not as common as red empress. Would make a real nice pick up. Go for it.
