......so whats the problem?
the pacu mooved as i said.

to start with, there're a few issues with mixing catfish with gars. sometimes, it can not be irresponsible fish keeping to make a decision to mix the two after careful reading. the main issue is to ensure the cats don't outgrow the gar and eat them. at the same time, you might want to ensure the gar doesn't make attempts at eating some of the slower growing catfish. gars have a tendency of thinking they can swallow fish that are obviously way too big, and might result in death for one, if not both fish involved (i'm pretty sure this can also be said about the faster growing cats). on top of that, cichlids are also usually ill advised to be kept with gars due to their agressive nature, & gars skittish nature.

however, with the pleco-gar combination, there's really no two ways about it. plecos can, do and will suck the slime off ganoid scaled fish (gars, bichirs, sturgeons, etc). this leads to serious injury & often a fatality.

i think everything is gonna be fine with all the tankmates.
...and if is not...there are many other tanks to split them just in case!
;)

hey i would watch out for your tsn, he might try to eat your gar. it has already happened to someone here on mfk, the tsn was smaller than the gar.
