I have 3 clown loaches in my 150 along with 30 african cichlids, a yoyo loach, peacock eel, 4 catfish, 3 bettas and a bala shark. EVERYBODY is fat and healthy except this one loach. he eats and eats and eats but wont gain weight. I watch my fish when they eat and this one doesnt hold back. My other two CLs are fat and deep orange, this little guys orange is still pale. ive had him for at least 2-3 months. He was like this when i bought him but i figured he was just malnurished. Ive also noticed hes not as great a swimmer as the other two. the others dart around quickly while he just kinda glides around slowly. When they others are full they lie on the rocks or the driftwood while this guy is constantly grazing on the filter intakes, between the rocks and anywhere else he can find edibles. Ive been feeding: blodworms, oyster meat, cucumber, green seaweed, and a mix of flack food and cichlid pellets. Internal parasites? of so whats the best treatment?

Mix up some bloodworms and a bunch of Ultra-Cure PX. Treat with that and feed it often.

that may be a problem being i have 30 ACs in there that will eat all that up before the loaches can get to it. a Q tank would be nice but i dont have room/money for one. is it internal parasites? is there an alternative med. is there something i could inject into some oyster meat. it will last a lot longer.

yes but i've had problems with my other fish chewing holes in the side. i have an intank refugium comming soon but i have to make some kind of top for it. catching the CL with be the hardest part

Actually, I have had success curing parasites with diet alone. I feed green saltwater mussels and fish eggs. The mass quantities of protein and HUFAs seem to bolster the immune system. I have even seen a skinny loach kick the parasites on a strict diet of mass quantities of snails.
