About a month ago, I did a twist to my 55. I made it planted. But now, all over the place is this layer of brownish gunk, ?brown algea? :nilly: It looks pretty ugly in the tank, and covers everything. When I wipe it off of the ordaments or glass, sure enough its back within a few days to a week.

I really dont want to use any additives to the tank to kill the algea, and not even sure it would work just once. What type of fish can I put in there that will eat the brown algea and work with my growouts (JD, GT, Texas, bichirs all of about 4")? Or is there a different way that I can get rid of the algea?

Thanks

Adding Co2 can help with algae in a planted tank. Need get this moved to the planted tank forum, could get more answers there.

add in snails or algae eating fish
