So my XP3 has been running for around a week but I noticed there are some black spots on the inside of the tubings now...
And it looks gross..

At first I thought it was some air bubbles but they wouldn't move so...

Any idea what is is and how to get rid of it?

Oh and I read that the tubings get black or something overtime, but how do I prevent/cure that?

Don't worry it will get worse. The tubes on my xp are pretty dark with what I do not know. It has been this way for some time and does not hurt the fish. I just assumed it was algae of some sort.

fish waste, commonly happens. just clean them out or let it be, doesnt matter
:)

pretty much everything thats in your tank goes through that tube food and waste wise so its prolly just crap, nothing to worry about

haha I tried cleaning mine, but it didnt work. It cleared up the tubes a little bit but that was it

yea it looks kinda ugly don't it I don't really like the sight of it so I clean them out with a piece of string with a small piece of sponge attached mid way back and forth back and forth :nilly:. I found that if you leave it to long it does restrict the flow and tends to get loose and pushed back into your tank when you move the lines during cleaning and what not:cry: .
I have also cleaned them with sand by using them as siphon lines in a bucket full of water and sand ...works great .

Actually. just leave them alone. I know it isn't pretty, but, it can be benificial. If your tank is healthy, it will actually start to go away. Mine was almost black and now you can see though it again. BB is an amazing thing.

They don't look like slimes but just spots..
And I'm afraid if I pull the tubes off, then they'll get stretched out and leak once i connect them again...

if they do start clogging(which I'm guessing will take years) will RENA replace them?
