Here a picture of my Atros in breeding dress....not sure how many people have ever bred these before.

Wow I haven't seen these been bred yet but not to say that they haven't been. Never seen F1's for sale. That female breeding dress is real nice. Good job with them. Update us if you have any fry.

That terrible second picture is their fry...I was able to pull some and am growing them out. Fry are 6wks old now. From what I can tell, this is the only breeding pair around. They keeping hanging around the cave and nuzzling each other...hopefully I can get a second spawn.

I had a single fish in oh...........about 1978. I have heard they have not been bred and that is why they disappeared from the hobby back then. If that is not correct you have still pulled off an amazing thing, congratulations! Nice pair of fish. You should try ornatum now, another very difficult fish to spawn. i wish you continued success. Keep us up to date, please.
 
I have a pair of Atromaculatums, they haven't bred, they are about 8", nice cichlid, but no fry, good job :)
 
Beautiful pair!! You sure don't see this attractive species very often. Especially as big as yours are. How long have you had them and how big were they when you got them. Any chance we could see a video of these guys?
