my oscars spawned for the first time today.still not sure if its two females yet .if one is a male what are the odds of the first spawn being succesful.the only fish that spawned for me were cons.

Most new world cichlids get there first couple of spawns wrong. But it depends on the fish, all of my cichlid pairs have never had a bad spawn.
They should spawn in about 3-4 weeks.
Do they still have thier breeding tubes out?

What color are the eggs? If they are golden/brownish color then they are fertilized. If they appear to be white, then they are unfertilized. Oscars also tend to eat their eggs, so watch out. =P
they were in the process of laying them when i seen it.i was only able to see the tube on the one laying the eggs.
i watched the red lay the eggs so im sure thats the female heres a pic of the other one tell me what you think
