Exciting Weekend

Had a good fishy weekend…
First off, my aponogeton had all been wiped out when I treated for ich. Well over the past few weeks it’s been steadily coming back, and on Friday treated me to having a flower bloom:

Then on a lfs trip I picked up 2 beautiful frogspawn corals (bogo deal) and a firefish. Also got 2 Ludwigia triple red and some more Val:

Also I found a population of snails and what I think are copepods surviving in my planted tank.
And then the icing on the cake, molly fry! Really hard to get pics of them, but I’m super excited that they bred…I knew my hunch that one was pregnant paid off!

I know that there’s nothing special about the stuff in my tank, it’s just really nice to see signs that the environment is doing well.

You can hand pollinate the aponogeton flowers, either with pencil brush or just mashing flowers together. Then collect and germinate seeds much like any plant.

They aren't a true aquatic species but hardly of the plants we keep in tanks are.

Awesome that you had such an exciting weekend! Bouncing back plants, great fish store deals, pleasant surprise tank residents - you got the whole enchilada.

This weekend will, with any luck, be just as exciting for me (I was already going to make threads, but you really reinforced that idea).
