i've heard of ppl keeping exo's with p's and cichlids. i was wondering if anybody had success with other tank mates?

My lfs allways puts them in a tank with bichirs and hujeta characins. And they say that the exo's don't bother them. But the smaller exo's get eaten by the hujeta's every now and then. BUt IMO its a gamble with any fish in a exo tank.
I had 3 exodons with my elongatus piranha. They ALL survived for a week till 1 had a missing tail one night and I found the other's head the next day. Still have 2 but they dwell on the top now so its all good so far.
they are found in the wild with a few species of corys and ottos, as well as fire tetras. besides hese i have kept them with other cats and loaches with success.

general rule is bottom dwellers that can hold their own....but exos arent the ferocious little bastards we all think they are.

they cannot be kept with cichlids. one or the other will die.
they are sometimes kept with P's, but they are natural food for the P's, so most likely they will be eaten. theres always exceptions, so i cant say it will never work, but its definitely not advised.
