so i have piranhas and exodons together and i know that there is bound to be casualties. well it looks like one of my ps struck because my biggest exo is missing half of his back tail. does anyone know if it will grow back. or is he doomed to be a piranha snack? he swims fine right now and his color is good but its gotta be hard on him missing half that tail id think...:nilly:

The fact that it has a injury and is with other exodons and ps means he's most likely a gonner. Is it his fins or the actual tail to the base that is damaged?

Need a pic to see exactly what part of the tail is missing. If it's just half of the fin, it may grow back. If you mean half of his back end, then he's not going to regrow that.

He's going to be more vulnerable for now until it grows back some, I'm sure it'll slow him down a bit. Hopefully they don't take him out in the meantime.

Just thought I'd update. He's still kicking. It's the biggest member of my shoal and it's a fiesty one Lol. Still eating still great color and quick as lightning. I'm honestly impressed. I'll get some pics up as soon as I can but it's a fighter that's for sure

Moved to Other Characins.

Given enough time, the exodons will likely end up as feeders for the p's.

it is possible. theyve been together one month and ive had one casualty but all in all they exist pretty peacefully.. the exodon who was missing his tail has grown most of it back and the piranha leave them be for the most part i try to keep everyone well fed and it seems to work out well. plus i keep a heavy current to keep them busy and that seems to work well too. thanks for the input though!
