Hello MFK,

I'm interested in picking up a small group of exodon, around 12-15, and put them in a species only tank.

My question is, if I plan on adding more exodon in the future will the first set of exodon attack the newcomers I'm the future? I want to have enough exodon so they don't kill each other.

And what's a good number of exodon to end with formy tank?

The tank is a 55 gallon tank and I plan on getting around 15 exodon.
The tank dimensions is 48in x 13in x 21in

Thanks,

I have heard that If well planted or with a lot of hiding spots new fish can be added and apparently during feeding is the best time to add a new one.

15-25 is probably your max in the tank with a lot of water changes.

Good luck :)

That's good, I just want enough so they feel comfortable lol. If I had enough money I'd try to get 20 of them. I want to add Amazon swords but my tank is a bare bottom. How are they in high flow aquariums? My tank was set up for a payara and it has a good amount of flow lol

I had a school of those in with my piranhas. Beautiful fish and they were meaner than the piranha. Don't recall any ever being eaten.

Nice! I was hesitant on picking some up due to reading about them killing each other. But I guess they only kill the weak and sick ones

Ended up getting 15 of them. And they are awesome... They hit food once it hits the surface. They have little brawls every once in a while but I read it's for developing a heigherarchy

ended up getting a bushynose pleco to clean up after them. i didnt think they were going to be messy eaters but i was wrong.

If I remember correctly there fin Nippers. they also call them bucktooth tetras because of the way the teeth are shaped.
They take scales off of other fish. Not the best thing to have happen
