Exodon paradoxus

The biggest I've seen is about 3" Seems like they do best in a species tank. I've seen people keep them in groups and the smallest tank I've seen them in on here is a 40g breeder, I think.

i have one 4 inch . he/she never ever nips at any of his/her tankmates. i think mine acts like a community fish. he/she currently lives with some small african cichlids and small plecos and just keeps to his/her self all the time unless attacked it avoids confrontation.

i use to have 4 in a 20 wide and they school a lot, throw about 2 dozens in a 55 and it'll be a show for sure

i guess that i had 5 now that i look at it, when it was feeding time they went to pirahna mode literally they eat like pirahnas do. very exciting fish to watch and own makes me miss mine.

They average 3" in a home aquarium, but can double that in the wild, so occasionally you will see one get larger then 3" in a tank.
As stated, they are best kept in an exodon only tank and in groups of 10 or more. However, you won't need such a big tank. General rule of thumb with these fish is 1"/gallon however you can do quite a bit more with that. These guys do well in crowded setups.

Btw. One of my shoals is in a tank smaller then 40B.
