I'm nearly done setting up my new biotope tank (48x18 w/ 3d background filtered by a XP3 and AC110) and I'm searching for dither fish that will stand a chance of surviving with the bigger cichlids.

Right now I have 3 Midas in a 30 and they need a bigger home (I got them just to cycle the tank because they looked cool and were cheap... had no clue they would survive). One is about 6 inches, one 4.5 inches, and the whip is about 3 inches.

Would a shoal of 10 exodons work out? I want something that will school and be active... and stand a chance of escape.

no, they wont work.
i agree...the three midas are going to need a really big tank if you want to even attempt to keep all three of them. even a single midas should have like 90 gallons minimum, let alone trying to keep a shoal of anything
