how many exodons (bucktoothed tetra) can i keep in a 20g high tank until they will need a larger tank, and what size tank would they eventually need? also, what price range do these fish go for? i dont think ive ever seen them at any fish stores before.

Probably be better in a 40g or a 50g. In small tanks, they tend to be more nippy with each other. They go for $4-$9 a piece.
I've had about 8 in a 29 before...they were a bit nippy at each other but no one was ever seriously injured....actually I never saw any of them with torn fins or had one with a missing eye...they lived in a 29 for 4 months without incident...the biggest was at 3".
they need to be in a group of 10 minimum to curb aggression. however if you are considering it, you will need to bump up your filtration a bit
