I wanted to spice up my 29 gallon bichir growout tank for some of my smaller bichirs. I was wondering what are some of the potential problems with keeping about 5-6 exodons with my bichirs and if there is any thing better. Looking for the most vicious fish that wont kill my bichirs. Also I wanted something for my 125 gallon tank 72x24x17 and my future 240-5wide tank 60x36x25. Both of these tanks will have bichirs in them and the 240 will have a congus bichir wich can max at near 3 feet.

Thank you

The exodon will most likely leave the Bichir alone, although optimum water parameters maybe different. The bichir will eat an exodon if they are large enough.

hard to say if that would work bichirs may get pick on

i'd go with a clown knife or something as a tank mate for the bichirs mabye a catfish of some kind also something on the top like aa freshwater barracuda of some kind or something just about anything that isn't aggressive or bite sized will work

The Exodons can go either way...they might pick on the Bichir or the Bichir will eat them depending on the size. Go with some large Congo Tetras.

you have a 125g and want to fill it with exodons?

the problem with exodons is that too many or too few will cause them to turn on each other. They really are make for smaller tanks. I would suggest some medium cichlids for your tank, and a group of 10 exodons for a 55g. That would look awesome!

exodons need to big kept in groups of at least 10 or more.
the bichirs will def. eat them once theyre big enough.
even the smallest species of bichir will.
the exodons will most likely leave the bichirs alone.
try a payara or more bichirs or some other preds.
