I've heard mixed reviews on these guys, I'm thinking of doing a specie 30 ga tank, with a good like 6 or 7 of em. From other sources it seems they only develop the natural pack characteristics when in a large group like this.

Anyone have exp with em? I know they are scale eaters, something that makes em a bad idea for bigger fish but all the same they are the closest thing to a pirahna other then pacu (and the humanlike teeth weird me out) that I can legally own haha, planning on putting this next to my 60 with my others so it looks like one big tank, will have some kind of block so the exodons don't get stressed by the big guys

Bump.

Nobody has experience with these bad boys? C'mon guys i find that hard to believe!

I love preds and have been wanting a mini monster tank for a while, but i need to hear from people who have kept them before

yeah that would be a crazy tank, and a lot of fish to acclimate haha

Like three five gallon buckets full of exodons. But I also decided I didn't want them before I thought about the price because they are only scale eaters. They Aren't as bad as they are said to be.

I have 21 in a 29 gallon tank. They are active and school very nicely. There are some blue tetra and silver hatchets in with them. It is heavily planted. They leave the other tetra alone, and chase each other. No damage though. I would get a lot more than 6 or 7 for a 30 gallon. Fill the tank up with them. I got mine for $6 a piece. Not cheap. But there are much more expensive fish out there.

And, I think they have a much worse reputation for being aggressive than they really are. If kept in a large enough school, they should be fine.

the only one available to me are 15 each but their 3 inchers, so i think ill go with about 7 or 8 if i do decide on this specie.
