I have a 125 gallon FULL of fish and am thinking about (actually I'm really going to do it:D) adding a 150 gallon or so Rubbermaid Horse trough (approx. 48"x24"x30") to it. The tank already has a wet/dry filter rated for a 200 gallon aquarium running through a Continous Syphon Overflow box from CPR at 1200gph(well....slightly less if you factor in head pressure). What would be the best way to integrate the tub into this system? Just get another pump(probably lower gph) and the appropriate sized CSO? Or maybe, some how tie the tub into the existing wet/dry?? Thanks in advance for your thoughts and ideas!!!

Are you planning on adding fish?

Your filter may be to small in that case.

How much room have you got?

Are you placing the tough on the floor or elevating it?

If on the floor you could elevate the filter to half way between the tank and the trough, put up to the filter from the trough w/gravity return thru a http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15733 and gravity feed from the tank to the filter and pump back to the tank.

I was planning on putting it on the floor, but I may rethink that now. I don't want to up grade my wet/dry, but was thinking about adding something like a Tetra Pond Filter to the trough itself. I guess what I really want to know is, what is the best way to tie the trough directly to the tank? My aforementioned idea with a small pump and another HOB overflow/DIY overflow you just showed me(thanks for that by the way)? Or something better? I could possibly have an overflow go directly through a pond filter from the 125 and then into the tub I suppose.
