anyone have experience with this media? im thinking of making a moving bed filter and was wondering how well this stuff works, in the videos it just shows a vibrating version and for some reason his accent makes me not trust him lol. does this stuff really move like kaldnes?

I have no clue... but that has never kept me from commenting about anything! :-)

I would guess that the movement patterns would be related to the density of the media compared to density of the K1. I am sure the density of this media will change over time as it reaches its saturation point. His video shows the density of the K1 changing as it develops the bacterial colony... I imagine this media would be similar.

The media looks very interesting.

K1 all the way,i've got a spare 100 liters

Yes, I think he says it is sintered glass some where in his add. He also stated that the white blotches are some sort of water conditioner that slowly dissolves over time. I have some Eheim sintered glass media and I don't think I could keep it suspended with an air stone. I would guess you are buying the sintered glass of the right density to be easily kept suspended?

Ive used it for over 6 months. Bio motion works much better than K1. Yes it is a new product but from a rated manufacturer of sintered glass (biohome). I think it will become the number one choice for moving bed filters when word spreads and more people try it.
