Hi everyone, does anyone here have experience with the Jebao cross flow wave makers with controller… I was on Amazon searching and I found the Jebao wave maker and I’m trying to get some good Infos on them before I make the purchase… Im hoping to buy a wave maker for my 270 gallon 6x3x2 acrylic tank to make my life easier since I keep on getting pellet stains on the bottom of my acrylic tank and I’m just trying to keep the bottom clean as possible since I will be having rays on the bottom…

Experience or not, please give me some options on which ones are good to buy… thanks MFK fellows!

I have a Jebao SOW-20 on my 300 gallon and it can produce way more than enough current. I actually just have it on medium with a steady flow. It will definitely blow spots in your substrate depending on position and how high you have. It works great keeping the substrate clean. I would recommend them for an affordable, controllable option!

I feel the rounds one are kind of in the way that’s why I thought about going with the Jebao cross wave

I use Ecotech Vortech wavemakers and they’re awesome. Plenty of patterns and very powerful and controllable.

Never tried the Jebao but know some reefers that do and they seem to like it. For the most part, Jebao makes good pumps for the money

I use it in my 600 and it’s a nice steady current. I have it mounted mid height jn a 30” tank and it really does a good job. I’ll get pics later and more specs to share when the tank lights come on.

I have the SCP-120 and I have it half way up the right end of the tank and it does a good job of putting a flow that isn’t too powerful across the 96” tank. I have it set in a steady flow as opposed to a pulse and like the pump for its price. I’ll need a second and am torn between between getting another or getting a more traditional rounded profile.

things I don’t like are the strength of the magnet. Every time I do a water change and the water level drops below the height of the pump, it slides down and I have to reposition. Also don’t like the fact that it isn’t discreet. I can see my umbee messing with it when they grow and don’t know if it’ll be a long term option. I don’t place it higher in the tank but if I did, it would draw in air from the surface and create a bunch of fine bubbles, something I don’t like since it affects the clarity of the tank. Hate the look of a bunch of fine bubbles.

would I buy it again?, probably simply because it’s different but as I’m typing this out, I’ll probably get a more traditional one for my second pump.

Awesome! Shoot some pics on here, thanks! I’m planning to go with the Spc-180 and I think that’s the biggest one too

I’ll be definitely going with the Spc-180
