Hello, I am in the process of purchasing a Goonch of my own but I want to make sure I have his tank properly set up, I know they like cool fast moving water with a ph of about 7.2 but can anyone with a little more experience lend me some tips such as substrate to use any plants or deco in the tank? He will be the only fish in the tank and it's a 125g. Thanks!

I Dont have much info on these guys, but im just curious, is the 125G your largest tank? Or do you have a pond / planning on upgrading later on

I have a 300 I plan on putting him in and then I have a large pond in the works! I can't wait to have it done but I'd rather not rush and make sure everything is perfect

Good to hear you have plans for a pond, since housing anything with the potential to reach 2M in a tank is no joke and possibly a huge risk?

I'd agree with attempting to keep anything that large in a tank would be detrimental to the animals health. I don't see the point in keeping an animal if I can't house it properly and respect it's needs.

I believe it is B. Yarelli, I trust the supplier on that but I guess you never know! I planned on heavy outflow canister filters placed lower in the water and within a few weeks getting a nice strong powerhead to go with it
