Ok guys... well as youve seen my older post, on how my FlowerHorn has a pinched stomach... and many ppl advised I get some Prazi or Metro... Getting Metro where I am REQUIRES prescription, its the ONLY product SEACHEM can't export here...however, I got my hands on some... not Seachem, but still aquarium good...

**THESE ARE THE STEPS I TOOK** (I hope im good to go)

1. Since 1 dose of the Metro lasts for 7 days, I did a quick 20-25% water change

2. I took the 8 tablets of metro, took some water out of his tank... and melted most of the tablets into a cup..and poured it evenly around the aquarium

3. Filters were turned off... HEATER is ON...Water Pump is ON...

Are my steps ok? :) I hope they are, I want him back to normal :( oh and he started eating again.. PROPERLY...and eats algae pellets to, which he hated before... :

You don't want your filters off, just your UV light or carbon in your filter (if you have either one). Freshwater fish really need to consume the metro for it to work, so on top of your water dosing you should soak some of his food in metro you've dissolved in water. Make sure he eats it right away, if you have to skip a feeding or two to get him enthusiastic about hitting food hard then do it.

oh damn.... ok ill take the carbon out, and leave the filters on (the lfs actually said to only take carbon out and leave filters on)

ok so i need him to eat this? damn it... i already put in 8 tablets into the water... :/ how the hell can i get him to eat it now? :P i got 8 tablets left, just incase i need another dose?

No, it's good you dosed the water. Just dose some food with your remaining tablets. You dissolved the ones you dosed the water with right? Metro isn't the easiest to dissolve. Can you get your hands on prazi BTW?

Thank you very much clock, for your swift advise.

Prazi nope, getting METRO...was basically, under the table sought of thing bro... it was VERY hard to get... yes i disolved most of metro in water from his tank in a seperate cup...

then poured it in, and washed the cup of with tank water inside the tank, so all of it goes in...it dissolved nicely.... and im feeding him 2-3 pellets at a time, so he digests some water when hes eating with the pellets....each day I will do this, since he will digest some water and pellets (with the metro in the tank) I will wait 7 days... (as i was instructed by the LFS)... and if things don't improve much, when i give my next dose... I will mix some pellets with the metro directly before pouring in second dose...thats 7 days wait though...

That should be fine?

I also wanted to add, that theres a lot of white debri type things (little) floating inside my aquarium, is that the Metro? lol i know i didn't get 100% of it melted, but yeah..

Yeah I know it's hard to get meds down there. Metro should work fine, but I was saying it wouldn't hurt if you could combine it. Yes, that's likely the metro not fully dissolving, it's a pain like that.

well lets pray bro... I heard some stories, where peoples fish had pinched stomach, they used metro 2-3 days later, their FH was back..with nice belly lol... I was suprised it can work so fast :D!

Some update...

Instead of dosing my water with 8 tablets of metro, i melted 1 tablet of metro, in LITTLE water, and directly soaked enough pellets for 3 days feed for my flowerhorn.. LUCKILY, he ate the soaked metro pellets the MINUTE they hit the water.... hes digging around, moving around, and eating with big appetite...

I am planning on soaking 1 tablet of metro and using it over 2 days (4 meals for him) ... I keep the left over soaked pellets in the fridge to make sure they dont go bad... as ClockWork advised (thanks mate)

What you guys think? If hes eating the soaked pellets, isn't this way better than dosing the whole water and hoping it hits the right spot?

and, his stomach still looks a bit pinched...even if hes healed, does this look take time to go away?

after giving him 1-2 tablets of metro over 3 days... hes swimming around a bit more, eats his food ... but i can tell hes still weak... and the pinch is still a little visible... but hes eating now, and swimming better than before...

Should i stop giving medicine? does it take time for his strength to come back even if the parastites are gone? how would i know?
