Sorry guys I was told to post this in this section. Ive posted a couple of pics of my flowerhorn, whose still only 1.5-2 inches long...still very young... I was told my the shopkeeper you can never tell how a flowerhorn is gonna look until a certain age? If this is the case what age is the normal time to be able to tell its potential colors? Could anyone take a guess on how mine MIGHT look? theres a bit of purple under the gills, and a bit of red/orange on the tail and fins. AND Uploaded with ImageShack.us

maby its a trimac hybrid thers no flower on head

Looks low grade. I have one that looked liked that except it had the flower on its head. It grew big but never developed a kok. I think the lack of a kok makes him over compensate in other ways.

^^ what do you mean? Man i wanted a flowerhorn after lookin at its awesome colors and aggressiveness to back it up... :/ mine kinda looks like a normal fish till now

Flowerhorns are a different kind of fish. They reflect their owners spirit and karma more than any other fish. You cant just buy kok and color, its not that easy.

interesting, i was talking to this breeder from Thailand and he advised i feed him sone XO ever red and XO ever green, since he has a bit of both colors?

Actually it is that easy. Majority of the time money talks and bs walks when it comes to flowerhorns.

IMO XO humpyhead is the best product that Ocean free makes. That and occasionaly chingmix are the only enhancer foods I feed, then just high quality pellets and veg/shrim for the health of the fish. I think this is a very proper diet for a FH.
Heres a couple befor and afters with XO HH: http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=427014

Nice fish dude, and yeah learning alot from you guys, but ive seen some feedback of other FH owners regarding the XO pellets which had awesome color effects! Im gonna give the pellets a try, hopefully he/she will like em :D its around 3 inches now, and I think I should start feeding him pellets because normal fish food just gets gobbled up in a matter of seconds lol?
