Whos had the opportunity to keep these underrated gems? Ive kept two of these
before and i have to say they are one of the most active ray i have ever kept.

Can somebody share their experiences with Humerosas ( if they have kept one before ) . My only problem with the humerosas was that i couldnt seem to switch them over to shrimps. They were eating whole canadian nightcrawlers and ive tried every possible trick in the book, but still would not eat shrimps.

ive had a beautiful little humerosa for about a year now. Just a FANTASTIC fish. This is my ONLY ray, so I can't compare, but I have seen other peoples tanks, and my humerosa is WAY more active than other rays I have seen. Non-stop swimming. NEVER EVER hides in the gravel (she did sometimes the first month or so, but never any more). She is VERY peaceful... yeah, she will eat a feeder, but she never bothers any of my small fish. She is close to 10" diameter now, and I have fish in there barely 3" and she never harrasses them. When I have to "move" her over to the other side of the tank when I have my hand in there, I use a long stick I have to prod her and she peacefully goes... never a panic, has never gotten defensive or aggressive with her tail, nothing.

Took me about a week to get her onto market prawns. She also will eat pellets and smelt (silversides) chopped up.. but she doesn't really like it. Only when she is HUNGRY. Otherwise she is a shrimp girl... loves it. ANd live worms as a treat now and then.. she gets REAL excited.

She is in a decorated, planted community .... I LOVE THIS RAY. I thought about picking up one of the "black" rays, but changed my mind, because I just think my humerosa has the perfect personality for the "community" tank she is in. And she's pretty, with a long nice tail!

Great setup and fish there scissors! Humerosas are very active! looks like she swims around non stop ! Im so jealous how you got her to eat prawns within a week. How big are those loaches btw?

Anybody else kept humerosas?

I really like those loaches, I thought about buying some at one point but they take forever to grow and I really can't afford a group of large ones.

Hmm that would be a Humerosa eh? So much confusion with rays..

I would have to say then, I have Imported ALOT of Humerosas... They look alot like the Yepezis, and some of the other motoro variants we get out of Peru. I will post pictures later tonight when I am at home ;)

Its hard to differentiate between a humerosa and yepezi. They have several morphs.

But heres mine.. def a humerosa
