A few months ago I ordered a couple of large containers of flakes as I was running out. I’ve checked everyone and they all have the flakes crushed into tiny pieces, to small for some of my fish really. For those of you who have ordered flakes online, how were they upon arrival?

I have never had a problem but would ask, if the flakes are too small why not use pellets? I use flake for my livebearers but everything else get pellets too.

I use flakes and pellets as a staple along with a few other things so it’s not a huge deal it’s more of an annoyance but I’ll work with it.
I’m thinking about trying to combine the flakes into larger pieces by wetting the edges of two different flakes and sticking them together then letting them dry. A lot of effort but I wouldn't mind as long as I have some music to listen to as I do it.

I've only ordered flakes once or twice, but no issues with them being crushed. Were they in bags or something?

No and that’s the really weird thing. They were in individual plastic containers and in the box there were the little bags of air that are sometimes used to ship stuff.
I’m thinking that they were thrown around a lot while in transit. Maybe even literally.

Every container of flakes I’ve ever gotten are over half crushed up and small.
All bought in store. I think that’s just how flakes are. But I also only use them for really small fish so its never been an issue.

All of the flakes I’ve gotten in store were never crushed like that.
Here’s a picture of one of the containers. Every container is the same
