OMG WTF IM GOING CRAZY !!!!! My FISH ARE STILL DYING!! SOMEONE PLEAAASSSSSEEEEEE HELLLLPPPPPP MEEEEE
Ok ive done Everything, Every suggestion i heard anyone tell me, someone posted, i could think off, BUT I CANT FIGURE IT OUT!!!
Only my dwarf cichlids are dying!! DYING! Apistogrammas, Krib, German blue rams, Electric blue rams...
My tank has other inhabitants that are doing just fine! and those inhabitants are supposed to be the ones that die first if there is a problem! (freshwater flounder, bamboo shrimp, ataya shrimp, ammano shrimp, bumble bee gobie, endlers....
I have a moderately planted aquarium, i have a canister filter i recently added (which i took out phos zorb pack out of it and put filter floss and the ceramic cylinders that it came with) I add Flourish (iron 1x-2x weekly and only 2.5ml, phosphrous same as iron, trace elements same as iron, excel every other day 5ml which is 2x less then recommended, potassium daily 5ml) When i usually add these i add them all together in a small measuring cup that came with them and add them all in one pour...
Ive taken out the electric blue jack dempsey and the bachardi just incase they were attacking the dwarfs at night...
Ive tried doing 20% water changes every other day (when i say tried these things i did them separately of each other so for the water changes for example i tried it for a week, seeing that it didnt work i stopped)
Tried feeding them medicated food
And yes i tested my water constantly, and even took it to my fish store they cleared it too
So i thought maybe it was the heat of mid day raising the temp, so i lowered the heater... still happened...
I redecorated the tank took out almost all of the rocks and minimized what may be in the tank... (there is still driftwood in the tank, a few pieces of slate but about 89% of all rocks have come out replaced with ceramic caves or fish store deco hollowed out logs..)
I thought they were eating, maybe... so i'd try 2-4 different types of food till i saw them at least nibble...
I thought maybe it was parasites or they were sick... (fish looked fine upon death no nipped fins, no blemishes... NOTHING) I even autopsied a few... no worms nothing odd with internal organs..
So i thought oh maybe the filter is to dirty... So i took out the sponge and washed it with clean water from another tank..
What i havnt tried, removing the canister filter, stopping with flourish additives, breaking down the entire tank and recycling starting from scratch...
The fish signs: sometimes none at all swimming fine, no damage anywhere on the fish, sometimes the fish are a bit lethargic as in i can easily touch them or net them without them really trying to swim away.. Sometimes i feel they may not be eating, but may be doing so while im away so not sure... But what is true is that it looks like at least 2 fish are dying each day... and just dwarf cichlids... I had 2 lampeyes die the morning after i got them but it could have been stress...
PH is at 6.7, ammonia is at 0, nitrites 0
