I just realized that the Hikari pellets that I had been feeding my flowerhorn expired back in September 2017. I already ordered some new pellets for him, but will it be OK to continue feeding him the old pellets until the new ones arrive? I just don't want to make him sick.

I don't think that the pellets are too far gone to give to your fish.If anything, whatever nutrional value they had might be lessened but I really doubt that your fish would get sick from eating them.

I would use up the current batch of pellets before opening the new stuff.

And store large quantities of opened stuff in a cool or cold place I would think.

I opened some canned soup dated 2015 last week and ate it so your flowerhorn is doing better than me!

I'm sorry but why the Hell did you eat from such an old can of soup?!?!

I remember reading a while back that the longer past the expiration, the higher chance of detritus worms appearing, so you may want to make sure not to overfeed

I hope that comment was in reference to the fish food and not my comment about the expired soup!
