Expired food?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Because they have too like water bottles! :p I think the food breaks down and looses some nutritional value. but its mostly all dehydrated anyways. but I usually don't buy more then ill be able to use in the tome anyways. Small containers lasts a year for me since I vary all tthe time

There is a reason why the fish food companies print expiration dates. The nutritional value is lower when the date is expired. Do your fish a favor and throw out expired fish food. (Your fish will thank you.)

a little past the date is fine, for pellets ond flakes anyway. too long past and...
I had a hikari cichlid staple that got lost in the under tank cabinet and was 2 years past due and it had sprouted little beetles.

What's your take on massivores then?
It's about 7 months over the expiration date.
I started feeding it to my fish maybe 3 months after the date then just realized it was expired about last month but didn't hesitate because my fish love it and I've noticed that a couple are getting some nicer color and growth from it.
Is it normally known to make the water smell bad and cloudy? That's what happened to me...
