Hey im 19 years old and im doing the part time college deal but i kinda wanna get out and explore the world. Is it plausable to think if I had around 2,000 USD that I could pick up and move to New Zealand or somewhere like that for a few months? Ofc im talking about getting a job whereever id go just the 2k as an initial fund. Hit me up with some knowledge plz.

Or even Canada? I live like 30 mins from the border atm. Somewhere urban though

I dont think being stuck in canada in the winter with limited funds would be all that fun or any where for that matter

Is there something you want to see or just looking for a change of scenery. You could always do Peace Corp.

I'm sure there are a lot of other exchange type programs you could look into as well, I would ask around at your school. My sister did a summer in Europe which was mostly funded through her school just cause she stopped by some predetermined volunteer events along the way.

I would recommend heading South - your $ will go a lot further. Ecuador or Peru are both really cool places and dirt cheap. Nicaragua is another place that you could do a lot of adventuring for $2000. Most foreign countries won't allow you to work without a lot of immigration paperwork, so you may want to investigate that aspect.

I'll have to look into the peace corp that actually sounds interesting. Heading south sounds intriguing but i do want something urban. Also without all the kidnapping. Ill have to look into it.

You'd eat up the $2k on a flight to New Zealand. Best bet would be to hire onto a cargo ship headed that way and earn some pay while spending a couple of months sailing there.
