Extension for my glass canopy??

Hi, i just ordered on line a glass canopy for my 75g tank.. and the canopy length is perfect.. the weigh however is much shorter so i think im going to need to replace the rear pane of glass for a larger one.. any suggestions of which route is the way to go.. really appreciate it

Didn't the canopy come with the plastic pieces for the rear of the glass that you trim to fit around filters and hoses?

The total inches the glass that came with my canopy is 13" ... I need 24".. My question is, where could I find a larger piece of glass for the back end of the canopy ... Thanks

Try a local glass shop or hardware store that can make you the piece you need that is the same thickness of the glass canopy you bought.

Did you accidentally get one for a 55 gallon?
Do you have a Perfecto/Marineland or All Glass/Aqueon?

Lowes and Home Depot have glass that is much thinner than what comes with aquariums, it works but it's very flexible and would break much easier. It also needs glued into the hinge and back strip with silicone to stay in place.

I got the perfecto one, ...And it's not deep enough .... Possible recieved the 55g one... Just wondering where I can get the extension rather the. Returning it... Thanks for the help so far all

Sounds like you only got halve the glass top. Should be 2-pc with a plastic hinge that slips between.

The standard 75G Perfecto/Marineland tank is only 18" wide and the glass canopy front section is 5", the rear glass is 9.25" and the plastic back strip is 2".

I think you ordered the wrong glass canopy.

i think i did too.. im going to ship it back.. could someone provide me with the correct size for a 75g tank (2 sections )... is it the one in the prev reply? (by millpotato).. thanks so much!
