external filter and sand

Hi!

I have an eheim 2213, external filter, and i want to change my gravel for sand... my problem is that the entrance of the filter will become near the sand... is there any problem..?

You could certainly destroy the impeller sucking up sand. If the intake is too long, just cut it shorter to keep the intake several inches off the bottom.

if you are useing pool filter sand, you can just adjust the intake 3 to 4 inch above the sand....and yes it can mess up your impleller.

how about placing a prefilter on your intake tube. just look for fine enough pores so sand wont get through
