Hello,

I just bought a second hand Eheim 2260. Problem is that it didn't come with hoses or anything. I have old hoses from my broken Fluval FX5 of which I plan to use only intake and output. I could also use hoses, but the problem is that the output hose on Eheim is much smaller and there would be no valves for removing the filter for cleaning.

I have an idea how I could add all valves, but I would like to ask, maybe anyone have done something similar and I could learn from it?

Please post your custom hosing for external filters or solutions for the 2260.

Thanks. Seen it, but looking for a different solution. I might just use ball valves as in link attached to a hose.

Bummer you didn't get the quick disconnect valves. I cannot imagine filter maintenance without. But they run ~$100 new... Not worth it for you.

Good luck, and please post how you end up doing it, for the benefit of all.

Thanks
harleyK

Its already has been modified by the previous owner a bit, but i think if i could get second valves, i could just make it work.

BTW I got it for only 65$

I removed one of output valves since it was unnecessary, and redone the mod on output valve since i did not trust it fully.

Works like a charm. Compared to FX5, the output is less powerfull, but the amount of filter media in it just blows my mind compared to FX5, it is 5 times larger.
