hello there,

I've been looking into a marine nano tank for some time, and have had a few thoughts on it. I was wondering if anyone could provide any advice/experience about having an external heatpad on the aquarium back/bottom to provide heat? This would reduce the clutter in the tank, and provide more space.

Is this idea even possible? Would it be too hot, not hot enough? Thermostats are available, but im not sure if they are just for reptile tanks and if they need to be installed internally?

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

not sure if it would be good due to the fact of salt creep being able to settle upon it as well as a mass of heat in that area where your heating pad is the best bet is to blend in an aquarium heater with your aqua scaping and not risk the unknown.

Yeah, just be safe and use an aquarium heater. If your filter is big enough you can place it in there if you don't want it in the display.
