I've been reading up on methods to remove external parasites on new arrivals and the simplest one I've found so far appears to be the salt bath. I read something about using high salt to water ratios. What should the salt to water ratio be? Should it be 1 tbsp per gallon of water? Also, will this affect the pH of the water? I just made mixtures of table salt, sea salt, and aquarium salt and checked the pH with tap water. I didn't see much change except for the aquarium salt batch. The aquarium salt batch seemed to go up approx. 0.2-0.3 compared to plain tap water. Is this true or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

What test kit did you use? Normally, it's the marine salt that does due to the buffering capacity.
