So heres the story, I recently cashed out a hobby of playing a meaningless video game that wasnt worth the accounts I had value of so I decided to sell a few of them off because I was tempted to get back into the hobby of Archery shooting at the range more often and at the fields nearby, however Im torn because I would get 1-2 hours of time spent doing this each week due to my schedule and other responsibilities. I would need to use the money I got to buy a new bow and setup. Mind you I've always been interested in archery and I'm somewhat good at it. But im just worried I'll shoot off $600 and it ends up being a fluke of a hobby.

Being said that, currently I am at the max tank/space limit for my current living conditions but I still am tempted to throw money at the hobby. I would love to get my 6 ft, 180 now which was planned for another time. Can always put this money away for when that time comes. Thoughts?

Give it to me ;)
I can easily spend it for you lol

Sleep on it a bit, you don't have to spend it now either, if you want a good bow just make one, no need to spend money

Put it away.

Speaking for myself. I love shooting bows and guns. The truth I have 0 time to do either. What gives me the most enjoyment right now(besides the fam) is sitting around drinking a good glass of bourbon and watching my fish & dart frogs. So expendable cash goes toward improving that right now.

If my goal was a 180. Id put 500 in savings go have a good time on 100. Then put money away when ever I could until I had about 1500 to drop on everything. Unless a deal come up on a 180 for 500 and under

I agree with saving most of it. If it was me in your shoes, i would replace any worn out equip, and get stocked up on food, declorinator, ect. And just put the rest in a savings account

Pfft, it's not a proper hobby if you're looking to make sound investments in it. Just DO IT. If you want to do something smart with your money pay off bills, put it into a mortgage or retirement account. You know...Something booooooring.

I shouldn't be giving advice on doing something smart with money though...My boss submitted my name for an award which comes with a $500 voucher. If I get it my plan is to buy $1300 of bits for my PC. :P
