Just got this guy yesterday and he had no signs of any problems and today when I get home from work I see this. Part of the dorsal fin is completely gone with several of the spines now unconnected. Surprised to see it move so quickly if it is just fin rot...is this something else?

I have quarantined, but am wondering if I should do anything thing besides Pimafix...

I wouldn't even do the PrimaFix, I'd just give him lots of fresh clean water and he'll heal fine. Could another fish have gotten ahold of him? That's what it looks like.

he will be good as new ..just keep water quality up..add according to directions a little aquarium salt... he was nipped

I agree. I doubt its fin rot as his other fins would look pretty bad too
