I was wondering if anyone seen or heard of arrowana's haveing there eye's affixiated on the bottom of the tank cause of the following reason's 1. tank is to tall. 2. tank has bare bottom??. wanting to rasie an arrow or arrow's in the near future. I have seen some pic' s on the net with this problem. they state that it is caused from the reason's above. more or less is this true.. I'm thinking of buying a 20gal L(bare bottom ,I find my water is saying cleaner) for a starter tank. with an young one missing it's yoke sack..

You are talking about droopy eyes right?... Most of the time its due to genetics as the fish are constantly being bred without genetic variation. There a various methods that you can try but most are only sucessfull to a certain extent.

1) Leave blinking bicycle lights on top of the tank so that the fish looks up.
2) Float a few ping pong balls on the surface of the water.
3) Cover all 5 sides of your tank with black paper so that the fish is forced to look up.
4) Operate on the eye socket of the fish to remove the fat tissues.

These are just a few methods that i have seen people tried and have worked for some of them and im sure there are more as well.

yes I belive your right they gave no name for this disorder ,I was not aware it is genetic.. but if you were to start an arowana tank you would choose short, wide, long vs tall & wide??? I belive it makes sence ... thanx for your reply
