my female dempsey has a foggy white shadow over her one eye? she is young and chases her tank mates a bit but nothing serious.. could it be from the tank decor? and what should i do?

Usually cloudy eyes are symptom of poor water quality

well its just one eye? she is healthy and so are all myy other fish... and as i said before she has had the spot since i got her and its still the same, so the signs dont point to water quality.. i am very careful to keep my tanks clean and cycled properly :/

i will do a large water change and salt the tank, with raising the temp.. hopefully that will help :( i do not know much about dempseys for i have cons and snails so advice on how to HELP her would be great right now

Could just be an old injury and just scarred over, see if it clears with some large water changes

i hope thats all it is :/ i did a bit of research and i used a bit of aquarium salt and epsom salt.. maybe that will help her digestion and healing process :) i also read that the lights can bother her? idk if thats true

well its been five days and three water changes later and there is no change in her eye?? she is healthy and so r all the other fish, so im assuming its a scare.. since the salt treatment she looks better than before all over ACCEPT for her eye lol

yeah probably just a cataract then. Usually if it is from bad water the eye will be cloudy and have a little point in the middle and it will turn into a tiny pinhole as it heals then it goes away. The cataract is probably from an injury
