was at one of the local fish stores today and noticed that they had a cichla temensis, which is a strain that we do not see often around these parts, mostly we see mono's. the employee told me that he was going to be sold for $40.00 in a few days after the fish had been situated. only problem is that they are letting it go for $40 because it has an eye problem that i think may be pop eye. it looks like an enlarged version of the eye with an almost translucent white - ish film over top. any ideas??? sorry no pics?? can i treat this problem if i purchase the fish?? will it go completely away??:

The enlargement you are talking about seems to indicate pop eye, which is bacterial infection.. it's rarely treatable, but a fish can live quite some time with it too, but that's not always the case.

The filming over the eyes, seems to me like it may be ammonia burn.

In all honesty, I would NOT buy it.
