hey,
I need your help on this one!
Ok so i picked up 2 S.Leucos from a mate of mine, they were in top condition at his house no problem at all. Netted them into the bags and added a few drops of prime just to be extra sure, Before i headed back home i went to Parramatta so my brother could pick up some snowboarding gear, by the time i got home they were around approx 1-2hrs in the car..
They weren't looking to happen so opened the bag immediately and floated the bag ontop of my tanks so that it could acclimatize, so after that was done i attempted to net them, Was a bit of a mess trying to get the Leuco into the net and eventually i gave up and poured him in, he had a slight scratch from the rough handling on its eye.. No biggy i thought , other one went in fine..
Usually i would just dose Salt and frequent water changes..
Thought it was no real threat to me but boy i was wrong, it turned into a bacterial infection in within a day the entire left eye was puffed out with white stuff hanging off??
I done an immediate 40% water change and dosed salt and epsom to draw the fluids out..
Since then its reduced in size but now i can see possibly blood inside the eye? other eye has it to now!!
WTF is going on
Tank parameters are Ph 6.8-7.2, ammonia 0, nitrate <5ppm, temp 30
Also note the other smaller leuco has been constantly harrassing the larger leuco that is affected, i noticed for the last 2 days the larger one hanging at the top or at the bottom
He still eats but honeslty i dont think it will pull through and if he does serious eye damage!!
But ill try my best to cure it, any ideas what it could be?
I've also been dosing protozin, should i dose Protozin once in the morning before i go school? do a water change before dinner (20%) and dose after dinner? so basically every 12hrs? alongside epsom salt baths?
Also theres 2 air sponges in the tank
Any help would greatly be appreciated
Thanks
jonathan
