First post on MFK.

Among others I have 4 x 8cm Gold sevs, on one of them the left pupil is about ½ the size of the right pupil, eg Left 1 to 1.5 mm Right 3.5 to 4mm.

He/she feeds ok and is not blind in that eye. All 4 are from the same batch of fry.

Could this be genetic. I am sure it has nothing to do with water conditions as they are in a 6x2x2 SA community tank.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers
Col

was she born this way? if she was then its normal its just a deformed part of the fish.my jd anal fin has a big gap but he was born that way sometimes things happen nothing to worry about if the fish is still eating and stuff.

Welcome!!

Well never heard of it before.....but I found there's usually a "eye growth spurt" in severums - their eyes are small as juvies (even with large body) but grow quickly during a short period of time when they are close to adult age (even with mininal body grow).

Yous are apparently adults...I wonder if the growth spurt didn't happen on one eye...
