Watching my bichir tank at 2am.
The 6" ornate is snippity snap at every fish. Took out the pectoral and pelvic fins of a congo tetra. Now immobilized, the ornate takes out its left eye, then the right eye. Then the ornate tried a couple bites. A 6" endlicheri joins in and attempts to swallow. They both find out that a 2.75" congo tetra does not fit in their mouths.
Now an eyeless corpse floats until the 8" ornate wakes up at 3am.
I'll need to replenish the tetra population for mid level tank aesthetics. Perhaps $1.86 Buenos Aires Tetras, or $3.99 Emperor Tetras. Both cheaper than $4.99+ Congo tetras, and nice to look at.
