Just came home to 5 new little Midas I ordered from rapps. They're from his wild Midas pair. As you can tell by the pics the tetra has more confidence right now but I'll keep posting pics as they settle in. They're small now, right around 2.5", so I have them in a 20 long. Trying to get their confidence up before they go in the 75. 120 for life for a pair when one forms.

Let me be the frist (ok 2nd) to say congratulations. Very cool.

Congrats!!! Why cant i come home to midas on my door step :( shipping to here from rapps is a fortune :( they look interesting. Would be nice to see how they change from that white color. Did u ask for them like that?

I didn't ask for a specific color, only that he mix males and females. He has them a few months older and they are already coloring up brightly. Im excited to see when they peel and what they peel into. I have them in a tank with very dark substrate, I don't know if that'll help. Either way I'm just happy to have some quality Midas in my house. I love chunky fish.

Cute little guys.
About the color: I didn't know that the white color also "peels" off. Post pics as they grow up.
I have a non-raps Midas that's also nearly white and some black spots. Hopefully he will turn bright orange/white for me when he grows:)

To be honest I don't have experience with Midas, I can only go on the fact that my fishes siblings have colored up. We will see. I'll keep posting progression pics. A couple of them are beat up, no doubt from being in a bag with 4 other Midas, but no real damage.
