Thought I would share a couple photos of some strange colored oscar juvies that were spawned from my wild caught pair. About 20 out of 300 fry have this sort of coloration. I know different color strains are nothing new with oscars. I just thought it odd that actual wild caught oscars would produce such fry.

Try breeding growing them out then breeding them together and establishing a platinum oscar!

very cool looking fry. i'm interested to see what they will look like as they grow.

they will end up getting color later, just like any other baby O does. none the less they look cool. look at your first adult's pic, a couple black spots and the rest orange. the babies with the odd pattern will end up like that.

I know the patterning should change, but if you examine the odd juvenile's pattern as compared to the first adult O's picture, it is almost identical.

I'm going to grow out about a dozen of the odd colored ones. The rest of the batch will be available from Jeff Rapps in a couple weeks.

Are you still breeding these Oscars, I would like to buy some fry. I didn't see Jeff at ACA this year!

Awww, the pics are gone and I forgot what they looked like!
