Well I've raised these guys since 1" fry when Spencer Jack first got a shipment from Rusty Wessel. When I first heard of these I had to have some. Within two weeks Spencer brought the fry in and I wasted no time in grabbing some.
Well it's been over a year and I managed to raised a beautiful female and a friend of mine gave me his lone male that he had left. This male killed the rest of the ones he had. So for the longest time I had these two separated figuring the size difference was just too great.
Recently however my pair of loisellei started getting frisky and I had to move the female to the male's tank. I started with a divider and after a couple days I removed the divider and hoped for the best. Well in non-parachromis-like fashion they hit it off perfectly. One week later, EGGS!
The male's pushing 9-inch and the female's about 3-3.5-inch. From the looks of the eggs there's a fair number of them.
Anyways, enough jibber jabber, here's the goods.
Male and female
Female fanning eggs
Female in stressed colours
