Caught them right in the act!

Male's been getting super aggressive towards the female, every time she leaves the eggs he goes after her and beats her, I think I'm gonna have to end up putting a divider.

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of. Even though she's almost the same size and just as thick, she doesn't seem to fight back. She's already missing some scales from his bites, but the aggression doesn't look that serious just yet. I have the divider ready but I'll give them some time to work it out.

Congrats bro!!! Don't worry about them. All he is doing is priming her to stay in the pot to spawn and then stay with the eggs. It's all natural. Eventually she'll get with the program, no worries. They spawned twice for me and he did the same thing to her. He's not trying to kill her, just show her who's boss and where she stands lol. Worse case scenario ill send you another female for free. Keep an eye on them but I doubt you'll need a divider.

lol Good. Today she's a little more confident and pokes him back when he gets rough... I put a 4" male JD yesterday as target fish and it seems to be doing fine, I'm surprised they tolerate tankmates at all.
