What are some recomendations for helping heal face damage. My wallago attu decided to run into a piece of bogwood(in which now has been removed) and put about a 3 inch long cut from his chin back on the side of his face. The cut does not look infected and has not changed his eating or chasing of tank mate habits but what would you guys recommend for the fastest possible recovery? I have the melafix concentrate but what else any ideas/comments would be appreciated.

Just let it heal on its own. My TSN is constantly cutting himself up on something and every time in a few days its nearly back to normal. He recently put a nice deep gash on his forehead that took a week to heal but he's fine. Good thing catfish are tough.

i have a male venustus that will sometimes scrape himself on rock, and i just use a little melafix for a few days so he doesnt get any type of bacterial infection--it seems to help him heal faster.
yeh especially if its on their hard heads its fine cause theres not a lot of flesh there, just cartilage therefore less chance of infection. to be on the safe side u could just add sum melafix or aquaplus. that cant hurt especially of the gash is large. good luck
