hey guys I was just wondering how one peacock bass would do in a 60 gallon tank until I would have to upgrade and also I was just wondering if there was different types of peacock bass and also what there growing rate is so any info or even additional info would help thanks!

Where to start....
Kelberi's, orino's and interms (not sure, never owed one) are the slower growers of the group. If your looking to keep bass in a 60gals, A kelberi and orino's is your best bet in till you "up grade". Their growth rate can very from fish to fish, given the best environment IE: water changes, food, etc... your looking at 1'' every month and a half.

As for different types, (http://www.worlddiscus.com/cichla/) and there are also different variants of each.

p-bass are big predatory fish. How do you think it is going to do in a 60 gallon!!! if you bought it at 2-3 inches it would be happy in a 60 gallon for a while, probably 6 months max before it is ready to burst through the glass.

I'm no expert as I have never had a tank big enough to properly house them. I don't plan on getting any p-bass until I get at least a 8x2x2 tank, and even that will only be big enough for a couple.

you could house one for a bit , when was you planning on upgrading to a bigger tank ? if your Pbass our grows the 60 before you have a bigger tank maybe ask your friend to house yours till you get a bigger tank and maybe through a couple bucks to him for the feed and care ... I have no clue just a thought.

OP, a 60gal tank would be more then enough room to "GROW" out some pbass for a year or so (kelberi's and orino's).

What Pbass are you referring to that would "burst" a tank in 6 months? Or are you just assuming that they will? In stead of assuming, try and give suggestions and reasons from your experiences with pbass.
